🎤𝐁𝐌: When it comes to something important I've never been a shrinking violet. I wasn't going to lie and pretend that I was something that I'm not. It really wasn't that much of a big deal. People's reactions were just really unimportant to me.

🎤𝐁𝐌: I'm 33 now and I feel like I express myself to the world. But over the past five or six years I've become a more private person than I was in my early 20's. It's really important to draw a line in the sand. There's only so much of myself I'm prepared to give away and that's what I do in the songwriting. Anything beyond that is personal and private and it has to remain that way.

🎤𝐁𝐌: No, I don't think it's got anything to do with music. I think it's got everything to do with everyday life and that you have to have a life outside of your band. If you don't have a life, you're going to have nothing to write about.

🎤𝐁𝐌: When I'm at home I'm not particularly that different from anybody else. When I'm on stage hopefully I'm unique, but that's up to opinion.

I came across this interview and today I want to share this excerpt with you because I found very important the reflections 𝑩𝒓𝒊𝒂𝒏 𝑴𝒐𝒍𝒌𝒐 made about privacy. As is mentioned above, in the early days of 𝑷𝒍𝒂𝒄𝒆𝒃𝒐 𝑩𝒓𝒊𝒂𝒏 was an open book, he told a lot of things about his life and over time he has become more reserved person, even he sings "𝑰 𝒈𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒎𝒚 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒕 𝒏𝒐𝒘 𝑰 𝒘𝒂𝒏𝒕 𝒊𝒕 𝒃𝒂𝒄𝒌" in his new song "𝑺𝒖𝒓𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒅 𝑩𝒚 𝑺𝒑𝒊𝒆𝒔", to me this line is like he's asking to respect his privacy after opening and giving his heart in his songs and the overwhelming feeling of being watched by the public eye.

I try to put myself in his shoes and it must be very complicated as an artist to be always exposed and at the same time know how to keep your personal life private, even more now - as he recently stated - "𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒊𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒏𝒆𝒕 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒄𝒆𝒍𝒍𝒑𝒉𝒐𝒏𝒆, 𝒘𝒉𝒊𝒄𝒉 𝒉𝒂𝒔 𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒏𝒆𝒅 𝒑𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒄𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒚 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚 𝒖𝒔𝒆𝒓 𝒊𝒏𝒕𝒐 𝒂 𝒑𝒂𝒑𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒛𝒛𝒐 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒔𝒑𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒂𝒕𝒐𝒓𝒔 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒊𝒓 𝒐𝒘𝒏 𝒍𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒔", so people bad intentioned have more tools to stalk and cross the line.

On the other hand, some people think that just because they are artists, they MUST always show everything about themselves and they don't have to bother if people want to know more about their lives, but respect for privacy is a fundamental right that is not conditioned by profession or anything else.


To accompany this post, I couldn't think of any other song that fits better than their latest single, so let's enjoy it for the 1000th time also because I love it and we are all so happy that they are back.💖
