๐Ÿ“ข ๐๐ซ๐ข๐š๐ง ๐Œ๐จ๐ฅ๐ค๐จ: "Our last single 'Jesus Son' and the Talk Talk cover 'Life Is What You Make It' are possibly two of the most commercial tracks that we've ever done. What we have a tendency to do it react allergically against what we’ve just done, so it's highly likely that the next thing we do will be something akin to career suicide."
(๐‘๐‘€๐ธ, ๐‘‚๐‘๐‘ก๐‘œ๐‘๐‘’๐‘Ÿ 5๐‘กโ„Ž, 2017)

As for the lead track, ๐๐ซ๐ข๐š๐ง also told ๐‘ป๐’‰๐’† ๐‘ฐ๐’๐’…๐’†๐’‘๐’†๐’๐’…๐’†๐’๐’•:
๐Ÿ“ข "We covered Talk Talk's 'Life's What You Make It' because it is a song from the 80s that we still liked and we wondered if we could replicate Gwen Stefani's global smash hit with her band's cover of [Talk Talk's] 'It's My Life'. That remains to be seen . . .”

In an interview with ๐‘ญ๐’๐’–๐’“๐’„๐’–๐’๐’•๐’–๐’“๐’† magazine, ๐’๐ญ๐ž๐Ÿ๐š๐ง explained what particular meaning the song has got to him:
๐Ÿ“ข “Life’s what you make it” is kind of a slogan to wake up to each day, you know? Sometimes I wake up with panic attacks and I just have to tell myself that this will pass and that there are a lot of good things to live for. There are a lot of things that I appreciate and I am thankful for everything that I have.“

An impressive music video, directed by ๐‘บ๐’‚๐’”๐’‰๐’‚ ๐‘น๐’‚๐’Š๐’๐’ƒ๐’๐’˜, was released half a year later, in June 2017. It was filmed at Agbogbloshie in Accra, Ghana, the site of one of the world's largest electronic waste dumps.

๐Ÿ”บYou can read more about the video and Sasha Rainbow’s short film ๐Š๐จ๐Ÿ๐ข ๐š๐ง๐ ๐‹๐š๐ซ๐ญ๐ž๐ฒ tightly connected to it, here:

In about two weeks, we’re going to have an occasion to talk about ๐€๐ฎ๐ญ๐จ๐ฅ๐ฎ๐ฆ๐ข๐ง๐ž๐ฌ๐œ๐ž๐ง๐ญ and its original writer Rowland S. Howard, so stay tuned

Pretty rarely mentioned ๐’๐จ๐ง๐  #๐Ÿ” was written by Ashley Slater, a member of the British band ๐…๐ซ๐ž๐š๐ค ๐๐จ๐ฐ๐ž๐ซ. Their music was a mix of acid jazz, funk, soul, and trip hop.
๐’๐จ๐ง๐  #๐Ÿ” comes from the band's 1996 album More of Everything for Everybody. An interesting fact is
that it was featured in a 2004 British-American movie ๐‚๐จ๐๐ž ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ”, a dystopic science fiction love story.
