Unique festival, which has been held every year since 2004 on the islands and around the Vltava River flowing through Prague, is very popular among its regular fans.
In 2006, the organizers exceeded their capabilities and invited the band Placebo as the star of the festival.
Although the number of visitors was considerable and the islands were full of fans, the organizers got into debt.
However, their enthusiasm is still not drying up. Since 2007, the festival has been shortened from ten days to just two, the big stars of the international music sky are no longer on posters, but even so, there are always many interesting events for visitors that connect all venues on the Vltava River and its embankments and bridges.
And most importantly, this festival has been free for all visitors since 2007.

Brian was incredible that day. According to several videos I can share with you, the fans revealed their great love perfectly, as well as Brian did his best to contact the audience.

United Islands - Saturday on Red Island belonged to Placebo. It could be heard and seen, it could be felt in a way.
It radiated from the visitors, who filled the meadow in Brรกnรญk from 3 pm, although many of them hid in the shade under the trees to escape the hellish heat in the glowing spaces in front of the stage.
Among them, it was possible to see people differently styled in Placebo's image - and not that their black clothes were in any way enviable. But it was clear to everyone that the right time would come after sunset.
There was also high expectations among the performers. Gregory of Southpaw, for example, who told the audience at the end of their performance: "Enjoy Placebo, it will definitely be a great experience!"
And he was right. Although Placebo had a very long sound check, at least it gave time to completely fill the space in front of the main stage with eager fans. They got it! It should be noted that such a precise beginning is not easy to see in a star of this caliber. Brian and Stefan's guitar park was ready - and the owners of the instruments were ready in a moment.
There are not only three members in Placebo. Accompanying musicians stood on the sides, but even so, it was obvious to the eyes and ears who played the main role here. Small and big, Molko and Olsdal, guitar and bass, or two guitars. Only Steve Hewitt disappeared a little behind his drums, although he could be heard clearly.

The band also quickly noticed the effect of their music - how great the "ladies and gentlemen of the United Islands of Prague", as Brian Molko called us all, enjoyed.
After all, his actions on stage proved that he experienced the performance with his heart and body. Bouncing, falling to his knees, running, dropping the microphone, everything was possible. At one point, he jumped off the stage into the photographer's aisle, sang a song there, and then disappeared.
"I lost the singer! Shit!" Olsdal commented. However, a minute later, the singer appeared - he had to get around it, because at his height he did not have a chance to climb the podium over two meters high. .../.../
The band did not keep a ninety-minute performance, but even the seventy-five one was rich enough for a captivating guitar experience and another highlight of the festival.
