🎸⭐ 𝙋𝙇𝘼𝘾𝙀𝘽𝙊 𝙇𝙄𝙑𝙀 𝙄𝙉 𝙂𝙐𝘼𝘿𝘼𝙇𝘼𝙅𝘼𝙍𝘼 𝟮𝟬𝟬𝟵 ⭐🎸

On September 29, 2009, the "𝑩𝒂𝒕𝒕𝒍𝒆 𝑭𝒐𝒓 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑺𝒖𝒏 𝑻𝒐𝒖𝒓" arrived in 𝑴𝒆𝒙𝒊𝒄𝒐 where Placebo performed for the second time at the 𝑽.𝑭.𝑮. 𝑨𝒓𝒆𝒏𝒂 in 𝑮𝒖𝒂𝒅𝒂𝒍𝒂𝒋𝒂𝒓𝒂, 𝑱𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒔𝒄𝒐. Organized by a very famous cola brand, the show was promoted under the slogan "𝒂𝒏𝒐𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒕𝒚𝒑𝒊𝒄𝒂𝒍 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒄𝒆𝒓𝒕" and was totally free. Along with 𝑷𝒍𝒂𝒄𝒆𝒃𝒐, the 𝑨𝒓𝒈𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒂𝒏 band 𝑩𝒂𝒃𝒂𝒔𝒐́𝒏𝒊𝒄𝒐𝒔 played as special guests. This was also 𝑷𝒍𝒂𝒄𝒆𝒃𝒐's first concert after they took a few weeks of a well-deserved break due to the sad incident the previous month in which, victim of exhaustion, 𝑩𝒓𝒊𝒂𝒏 𝑴𝒐𝒍𝒌𝒐 fainted on stage during his performance at the 𝑺𝒖𝒎𝒎𝒆𝒓 𝑺𝒐𝒏𝒊𝒄 festival in 𝑶𝒔𝒂𝒌𝒂, 𝑱𝒂𝒑𝒂𝒏. 💔

Fortunately, this had no major consequences on 𝑩𝒓𝒊𝒂𝒏's health and he fully recovered so they were able to perform the concerts they had planned to offer in 𝑴𝒆𝒙𝒊𝒄𝒐.

The long awaited day of their concert arrived and finally shortly after 10:30 pm 𝑷𝒍𝒂𝒄𝒆𝒃𝒐 took the stage of the 𝑽.𝑭.𝑮. 𝑨𝒓𝒆𝒏𝒂 to enchant more than 12 thousand people who had come to the event. I found a very good review that I want to share with you:

At midday, as Placebo arrive in mini-vans at the 12,000 capacity VF Arena, a gleaming white, spanking new-looking edifice a few miles outside town along a dusty highway, there are already hordes of fans waiting for them.

There's a moment in Guadalajara, though, when Stefan seems to be removed from the moment. Tall, thin and statuesque, he appears to drift off for a spell, thinking.

🔹Last year as part of the 𝑷𝒍𝒂𝒄𝒆𝒃𝒐 "𝒗𝒊𝒓𝒕𝒖𝒂𝒍 𝒔𝒖𝒎𝒎𝒆𝒓 𝒕𝒐𝒖𝒓" which they called "𝑳𝒐𝒔𝒕 𝑻𝒂𝒑𝒆𝒔" and which consisted of eight shows filmed at different festivals over the 24 years of the band, this concert in 𝑮𝒖𝒂𝒅𝒂𝒍𝒂𝒋𝒂𝒓𝒂 was streamed on their official 𝒀𝒐𝒖𝑻𝒖𝒃𝒆 channel on September 4, 2020. In the reminder published on their social networks the day before the streaming, 𝑷𝒍𝒂𝒄𝒆𝒃𝒐 wrote:

📲 "𝑨𝒇𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝒃𝒂𝒕𝒕𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒇𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒈𝒖𝒆 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒂 𝒃𝒂𝒅 𝒔𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒅𝒄𝒉𝒆𝒄𝒌, 𝒘𝒆 𝒓𝒆𝒎𝒆𝒎𝒃𝒆𝒓 𝒃𝒆𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒒𝒖𝒊𝒕𝒆 𝒂𝒑𝒑𝒓𝒆𝒉𝒆𝒏𝒔𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝒂𝒃𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒔𝒉𝒐𝒘. 𝑩𝒖𝒕 𝒂𝒔 𝒘𝒆 𝒌𝒊𝒄𝒌𝒆𝒅 𝒐𝒇𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒔𝒉𝒐𝒘, 𝒔𝒐 𝒅𝒊𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒓𝒐𝒐𝒎, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒘𝒆 𝒘𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒐𝒏 𝒕𝒐 𝒂𝒅𝒅 𝒂𝒏𝒐𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒈𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒕 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒄𝒆𝒓𝒕 𝒕𝒐 𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒍𝒐𝒏𝒈-𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑴𝒆𝒙𝒊𝒄𝒂𝒏 𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒇𝒆𝒔𝒕!“

When I read this, I remembered an anecdote I heard on a 𝑴𝒆𝒙𝒊𝒄𝒂𝒏 radio station that happened precisely during the soundcheck of this concert:

A girl was asked to cover this gig along with a colleague, when they arrived at the 𝑽.𝑭.𝑮. 𝑨𝒓𝒆𝒏𝒂, the two heard that 𝑷𝒍𝒂𝒄𝒆𝒃𝒐 was doing their soundcheck, so they entered the place and after walking through some corridors they found that 𝑩𝒓𝒊𝒂𝒏 𝑴𝒐𝒍𝒌𝒐 was only a few meters away from them. So they started to take pictures of him and when 𝑩𝒓𝒊𝒂𝒏 noticed it, he turned to see them very angry and asked security to take them away. The girl who went through this experience - and who told this anecdote -, said that honestly since then she didn't like 𝑷𝒍𝒂𝒄𝒆𝒃𝒐 very much anymore.

Well, I think for some reason that soundcheck was really bad and that affected the mood of someone. 😅🤭🤭

🔹If you manage to take your eyes off the band for some little moments during the concert, you will notice that photographer 𝑺𝒄𝒂𝒓𝒍𝒆𝒕 𝑷𝒂𝒈𝒆 is taking pictures from the back of the stage. She also did a photo shoot with 𝑷𝒍𝒂𝒄𝒆𝒃𝒐 in the streets of 𝑮𝒖𝒂𝒅𝒂𝒍𝒂𝒋𝒂𝒓𝒂 and one of these images was the cover of 𝑲𝒆𝒓𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒈 𝑴𝒂𝒈𝒂𝒛𝒊𝒏𝒆 in December 2009. You can see part of the photo shoot in this video:
