tonight we're going to enjoy another evening with Placebo lullabies.
I have prepared for you ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐ that were originally recorded in a fast version and then slowed down after a few years for the 2010 album ⭐"๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ ๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐จ๐ง๐ฎ๐ฌ ๐๐ข๐ฌ๐"⭐.
The release of this special edition was proudly announced by the band:

To avoid confusion, I should put everything about this song in perspective:
๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ is a rockier, more guitar driven version of the studio song ๐๐ฅ๐๐๐ฉ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐ข๐ญ๐ก ๐๐ก๐จ๐ฌ๐ญ๐ฌ from the 2003 same-titled album.
This heavier version was released first as the ๐-๐ฌ๐ข๐๐ ๐จ๐ ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐ฌ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐ฅ๐ ๐๐ก๐ข๐ฌ ๐๐ข๐๐ญ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ in 2003, and then also on the album ๐๐ฅ๐๐๐ฉ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐ข๐ญ๐ก ๐๐ก๐จ๐ฌ๐ญ๐ฌ ๐-๐ฌ๐ข๐๐๐ฌ ๐๐ง๐ ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐๐จ๐ฆ๐ฉ๐ข๐ฅ๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐๐ฅ๐๐ฎ๐ฆ ๐ ๐๐ฅ๐๐๐ ๐ ๐จ๐ซ ๐๐ฌ ๐๐จ ๐๐ซ๐๐๐ฆ, ๐๐จ๐ญ๐ก ๐ข๐ง ๐๐๐๐.
However, we all know this version from concerts, because Placebo included it in the setlist instead of the original Sleeping With Ghosts.
Another difference is that “Soulmates” was recorded at Livingstone Studios in London and produced by Dimitri Tikovoi while “Sleeping with ghosts” was recorded at The Townhouse Studios (also located in London) and produced by Jim Abbiss.

Okay, but we're here today for the ๐๐๐จ๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ฆ๐๐ญ๐๐ฌ ๐ฅ๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐๐๐ฒ๐ that the guys created for the "๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ ๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐" and I'm very grateful for that.
Brian changed the order of the verses in the chorus a little bit to make this lullaby absolutely perfect.
At the beginning there are only simple piano notes... After a while, Brian's voice joins in, full of tenderness and so vulnerable...

In the second verse, Brian's voice is joined by the sound of bells and violin, which is soft at first and gradually becomes more and more insistent...

Listening to this version, you will simply melt away, overwhelmed by your love of Placebo's music. Plus, the lyrics remind me that now more than ever, this song sadly fits the events of this time... when none of us know what tomorrow will bring, as the powers of this world play dice with our lives...

Today's second lullaby is just as beautiful as the first.
It comes from a song that in its fast, I would say almost rock punk form, reminds me of Placebo from the first album...

As I wrote above - this song was also reworked into a slower version for the "๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ ๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐" in 2010:
The prominent noisy guitars were swapped for piano and this again made space for Brian's even more challenging voice, turning the starkly punk version into a breathtaking confession of his desire for life change.
There is so much truth in those verses that touches me personally so I always feel very moved when I listen to this song.
