🔹 𝑫𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒎 𝑪𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝑭𝒊𝒍𝒎 𝑪𝒍𝒖𝒃 is a rock band founded in London in 1995 by Michael Sheehy, Andrew Park, Laurence Ash and Alex Vald, and split in 1999. 𝑩𝒓𝒊𝒂𝒏 𝑴𝒐𝒍𝒌𝒐 𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒔 𝒐𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒌 𝑺𝒐𝒎𝒆, 𝒇𝒓𝒐𝒎 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑩𝒊𝒍𝒍𝒚 𝑪𝒉𝒊𝒄 𝑬𝑷. Dream City Film Club, whose Michael Sheehy and Andrew Park are former band mates of 𝑺𝒕𝒆𝒗𝒆 𝑯𝒆𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒕 in Breed, often toured with Placebo in their early days, without the same success.

🔹 The year 1997 was the springboard for Dream City Film Club. The band had the opportunity to go on a small tour in Europe where they followed Placebo.

🔹 They recorded their second album which was released in 1999 and was called 𝑰𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑪𝒐𝒍𝒅 𝑳𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕 𝒐𝒇 𝑴𝒐𝒓𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈, which inspired Placebo for the 12th track on the Placebo album Meds. A nice wink ! 😄

💬 They're friends of mine, in fact Steve was playing with Andy, the bass player, in Breed. The singer, Michael, wrote something and just asked me to come and sing. (Laughs.) I liked it, I got to do my Pj Harvey.

💬 We opened a couple of gigs for them, before they became famous, and that's how the idea came about... It was a bit cynical on our part. We thought: "Let's get this little chick to sing on our record, and maybe we'll sell a few more". I don't know if it totally backfired or not. I remember some reviewers were more interested in trashing Brian than the record itself.
