Placebo are currently touring around the world with their new album, Battle For The Sun, out in June. Musicians arrived in Kyiv two days before the concert. And all this time, they just walked around the city.
As it became known to "Komsomolskaya Pravda", in the rider, the members of the band hadn’t demanded anything impossible. Oatmeal, eggs, bacon, fried sausages, bread, muffins, tea, coffee, and juice, for breakfast. Fresh vegetable salads, soup, meat or fish dishes, for dinner before the concert. Musicians wanted to complete that with three bottles of red and white wine (for the lead vocalist Molko), three packages of beer and four large bottles of Absolute vodka (for all the others).
Frontman Brian Molko wrote down his requests separately: a liter of soy milk, two liters of cranberry juice, muesli, fried chicken, bananas, tangerines, clementines, grapes, apples, and ... a can of pickled cucumbers! “We will be happy to try local food but please, let us know in advance what may be offered as we don’t eat any garbage - no dogs, no guinea pigs, no snakes or cats!” - here is an excerpt from the list of the band’s requirements
According to the number of fans at the concert, the band have been eagerly awaited in Kyiv. Placebo played here for the first time in 2007 and promised they’d come back. They say, one waits three years for the promised.
An overwhelming show lasted almost an hour and a half. The band played 19 songs interspersing new tracks with old hits. "Thank you, Placebo!" fans shouted as the rockers took a bow.
Interestingly, after the performance, the band members also attended an afterparty held in their honor in one of the city clubs. Although, Brian Molko wasn’t there – at that time, he was sleeping in his hotel room.
