Today, September 4th, marks 21 years since "𝐂𝐑𝐔𝐒𝐇", the collaboration between 𝑨đ‘Ē 𝑨𝒄𝒐𝒖𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒄𝒔 and 𝑩𝒓𝒊𝒂𝒏 𝑴𝒐𝒍𝒌𝒐 was released as a single both on CD and on a limited edition "7 vinyl. A month later a second version of the song was included on the band's third and most critically acclaimed album "đ‘ŧ𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑴𝒖𝒔𝒊𝒄'' (2000). In 2010, this album was reissued.

"𝐂𝐑𝐔𝐒𝐇" features backing vocals by 𝑩𝒓𝒊𝒂𝒏 𝑴𝒐𝒍𝒌𝒐 and was produced by 𝑨đ‘Ē 𝑨𝒄𝒐𝒖𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒄𝒔 themselves along with 𝑲𝒆𝒏𝒏𝒚 𝑷𝒂𝒕𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒐𝒏, who has also engineered several 𝑷𝒍𝒂𝒄𝒆𝒃𝒐 songs.

Formed in 1990 in 𝑮𝒍𝒂𝒔𝒈𝒐𝒘, đ‘ē𝒄𝒐𝒕𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒅, the indie rock band 𝑨đ‘Ē 𝑨𝒄𝒐𝒖𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒄𝒔 during their thirteen years of career released four albums, five EP's and eight singles on different independent record labels. They had the opportunity to be the support band of 𝑷𝑱 đ‘¯đ’‚đ’“đ’—đ’†đ’š, đ‘ē𝒑𝒂𝒄𝒆𝒎𝒆𝒏 𝟑 and đ‘ģ𝒉𝒆 𝑱𝒆𝒔𝒖𝒔 đ‘ŗđ’Šđ’›đ’‚đ’“đ’…, among others, including 𝑷𝒍𝒂𝒄𝒆𝒃𝒐 in 1997. In 2003, 𝑷𝒂𝒖𝒍 đ‘Ē𝒂𝒎𝒑𝒊𝒐𝒏, đ‘Ē𝒂𝒛 𝑹𝒊𝒍𝒆𝒚, đ‘Ģ𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝑮𝒐𝒓𝒎𝒍𝒆𝒚, 𝑴𝒂𝒓𝒌 𝑹𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒆 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑷𝒂𝒖𝒍 𝑴𝒖𝒓𝒓𝒂𝒚 decided to split up.#

🔹𝑷𝒂𝒖𝒍 đ‘Ē𝒂𝒎𝒑𝒊𝒐𝒏, leader of 𝑨đ‘Ē 𝑨𝒄𝒐𝒖𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒄𝒔, is a close friend of 𝑩𝒓𝒊𝒂𝒏 𝑴𝒐𝒍𝒌𝒐 and was the co-writer of one of 𝑷𝒍𝒂𝒄𝒆𝒃𝒐's biggest hits, "đ‘Ŧ𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚 𝒀𝒐𝒖 đ‘Ŧ𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚 𝑴𝒆" (1999).

🔹𝑷𝒍𝒂𝒄𝒆𝒃𝒐's song "𝟐𝟎 𝒀𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒔" came from
𝑷𝒂𝒖𝒍's riff and the line "đ‘ģ𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒕𝒘𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒚 𝒚𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒔 𝒕𝒐 𝒈𝒐" that 𝑩𝒓𝒊𝒂𝒏 always heard him sing on the soundchecks. 𝑩𝒓𝒊𝒂𝒏 thought it would be a great 𝑨đ‘Ē 𝑨𝒄𝒐𝒖𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒄𝒔 song but they never recorded it. However, it wasn't until 2004 that 𝑷𝒂𝒖𝒍 and 𝑩𝒓𝒊𝒂𝒏 reunited to write the song, as 𝑩𝒓𝒊𝒂𝒏 had memorized the riff and was determined that one day they would finish the song together.

🔹I'm pretty sure you remember 𝑩𝒓𝒊𝒂𝒏 𝑴𝒐𝒍𝒌𝒐 wearing the iconic "đ‘ē𝒕𝒖𝒏𝒕 𝑮𝒊𝒓𝒍" t-shirt and another one with "𝑰 𝑴𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒂𝒉" on it. Well, these words actually are the titles of the songs "đ‘ē𝒕𝒖𝒏𝒕 𝑮𝒊𝒓𝒍" and "I Messiah Am Jailer" by 𝑨đ‘Ē 𝑨𝒄𝒐𝒖𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒄𝒔. Both songs are among the most popular tracks of the band and were included in 𝑱𝒐𝒉𝒏 𝑷𝒆𝒆𝒍's 𝑨𝒏𝒏𝒖𝒂𝒍 𝑭𝒆𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝟓𝟎 đ‘Ē𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒕 at number 26 and 19 in 1996 and 1997 respectively.

I'll wait for him, because I know him.

Go there for him, go there first.

I'll wait for him, because I owe him.

Go there for him, because I must.

I'll wait for him, go there for him

I'll wait for him, go there first.

My place is nowhere, my name is cursed.

Before you come here, call friends and family first

There's a reason for this

I am I am I am

I'm crushed you saw this

I am I am I am

There's a reason for this

I am I am I am

Now no one lives here - not even dust

The ones swept through here, more crushed than us.

There's something in here, it's not just lust

If someone lives here, it's given liken first.

There's a reason for this

There's a reason for this

I am I am I am

I'm crushed you saw this

I am I am I am

There's a reason for this

I am I am I am

Seen all kinds of things here, I've heard things said

We wear no shoes here, we share no bread

I left my friends here, some things still dead and done

Before you come here call home instead

There's a reason for this

I am I am I am

I'm crushed you saw this

I am I am I am

There's a reason for this

I am I am I am
