Shortly after the “Meds” tour had ended, Placebo were part of Project Revolution. It was a travelling music festival in the USA that brought artists of various genres together.

Brian, Stefan and Steve Hewitt weren't in a healthy state of mind after a long time of excessive drug abuse during the production of “Meds” and the following one and a half years of touring with the album.”It was a tough time, but that Project Revolution tour was the death knell for what we call Placebo Mk. II,” Brian stated in an interview with Altpresscom in June 2009 (Placebo Mk. II means Placebo with Steve Hewitt as drummer).
The Project Revolution tour was quite short, it started on 25th of July 2007 and included only 29 performances. The last show took place on September 3rd 2007 in Greenwood Village in Colorado.

πŸ“’ "Well, we started this tour with a lot of bravado because we’d spent 18 months touring the world, preaching to the choir. We walked out on stage in Seattle dressed in our French designer clothing, like we would in Europe, played our melancholic songs and then went down like a complete lead balloon. We had to really rethink it. It took us about four gigs to find the right set [of songs]. I think we realized that at 5 p.m. in the afternoon Linkin Park and My Chemical Romance fans didn’t want to be wooed with melancholia; they wanted to be slapped across the face with noisy guitars. So we’re doing a very kind of punk rock show featuring songs we haven’t played in years, such as “Pure Morning” and “Nancy Boy.”

It was an annual music festival hosted by the alternative rock band Linkin Park. It brought artists of various genres of music together. Linkin Park started the festival in 2002 with one stage. Two years later they announced a second one, the Revolution Stage, where smaller bands and artists performed.
For 2007, the year Placebo were part of Project Revolution, Linkin Park decided to make the tour ostensibly "green" by donating $1 of every ticket to American Forests. They also used biodiesel on a majority of their buses, and eliminated an estimated 350 tons of carbon emissions that way.
Gerard Way, lead singer of My Chemical Romance was married backstage after the final show of the 2007 tour.
