Dear friends, today we will take a break from all serious Placebo topics.
I will remind you of the concert, that was absolutely magical, beautiful, intimate. And that's why together we will virtually visit a place that is really worth seeing.

In 2007, Placebo was in the middle of the Meds Tour.
Even before leaving for South America, the band decided to please their London fans and organize one small intimate concert for them in addition to the plan.
The date was announced for March 7. Tickets for £ 25 went on sale on 16 February and sold out in 5 minutes. However, most of the tickets were bought by resellers who tried to sell them on ebay for a much higher price.
You can imagine Brian's reaction to this very vile move. He got angry and the only way to stop the dealers was to organize another gig.
The date of the second concert was set for the day before the first one - on March 6. Ticket sales were limited to only two people. The resellers could not react other than to reduce the prices of tickets purchased in advance.

Let's talk about the venue itself.

„The Coronet Theatre began it’s life as a Victorian theatre back in the late 1800’s. Then known as the Palace Theatre, it acted as a stepping stone for the likes of Charlie Chaplin and remained a popular venue until the late 1940s when it was transformed into a radio studio, with the BBC using it as the home for the Goon Show throughout the 1980s.
The 6 month 2 million pound restoration project overseen by renovation experts was planned according to a singular brief - to create a 21st century entertainment venue from the ruins of a beautiful 19th century building that had fallen into disrepair - and in doing so, to restore one of South London's historic venues to it’s former glory.
The all-new ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ represents a versatile, 21st century, state-of-the-art venue, adaptable for use, from small intimate comedy events to international awards, from intimate gigs to 1,960 stylish cabaret evenings to thumping club nights.

The Coronet Theatre is located on New Kent Road, just a few short steps from the Elephant and Castle tube station and his capacity is 2,600.
The building faced the threat of demolition several times and it was even supposed to be a McDonald's restaurant ...
Thank God, this wonderful place in art deco style is an amazing center of cultural activity in London, and although it now faces, like many other similar places around the world, the threat of financial collapse due to a pandemic, we must hope to cope with this difficult situation again.
