Placebo Anyway: When did you first listen to Placebo?

Maryllian C: It’s been 10 years since I listened Placebo for the first time. I was 12 years old when my father bought the album Sleeping with Ghosts (just for curiosity) and one day I found myself listening to it. I immediately fell in love with that unusual and beautiful sound.

Placebo Anyway: What was so special about the band for you to become a fan?

Maryllian C: I became a true Placebo fan because of Brian Molko’s voice and personality. Another special thing is that Placebo has one song for every one of my modes; they are the soundtrack of my life.

Placebo Anyway:  How have you lived the last 10 years with the band and and their music?

Maryllian C: These years with Placebo have passed in a very special way, because this band has been with me in the most ordinary and the most important moments of my life. I’ve listened to them almost every day for 10 years.

Placebo Anyway:  You have been with the band from10 years now, have you gone to all the concerts in your country? Some abroad? Do you have all their albums?

Maryllian C:  I’ve gone to all Placebo concerts in Mexico since 2005 and one in L.A (2007). Of course I have all the albums and some collections.

        

Placebo Anyway: Do you have any special collection? Vinyls, singles, dvd’s...? 

Maryllian C: I have some singles, all the deluxe editions and dvd’s.

 

Placebo Anyway:  Which song makes you feel closer to the band?

Maryllian C: In every song I can find indescribable feelings, but with I know  I feel a special connection with the band. For me, the soul of Placebo is in this song because it belongs to a very dark age.

Placebo Anyway:  Do you see any difference between the fans from the beginning and the fans from nowadays?

Maryllian C: The only difference is the fact that the fans are younger now. In the last gig in Mexico City I met a 10 year old boy, who knew every Placebo song.

Placebo Anyway:  Is there a stereotypical Placebo fan? 

Maryllian C: I don’t think so, in the shows I see diversity in all the aspects and I find myself very different from other fans, which is great because the originality make us special.

Placebo Anyway:  What do you think about "Soulmates Never Die". Is this true?

Maryllian C: This is one of my favorite phrases and it’s absolutely true. Brian Molko and Stefan Olsdal are a lovely example of soulmates. It must be so comforting for Brian to have a friend and soulmate like Stef. Someone who truly understands him.

Placebo Anyway: In your opinion, what unifies Placebo fans. What is the glue that puts them together?

Maryllian C: The devotion for Placebo.

Placebo Anyway: How do you see the evolution of the band on a musical way?

Maryllian C: In most of the cases the albums are better than the previous ones, and the best of this musical evolution is that every song preserves the classic Placebo sound.

Placebo Anyway: Do you think the inclusion of Steve Forrest gave the band somehting positve?

Maryllian C: Definitely, with his youth and energy Steve Forrest gave to the band a more powerful sound. Besides, he is too charming and talented.

Placebo Anyway: Which difference do you see in Brian when you look back and compare it with how he is nowadays?

Maryllian C: I see a mature Brian who has learned to leave behind the dark period, because maybe it was something necessary in order to continue. However, I love that he has preserved his amazing personality through the years and that he is the beautiful, talented and brilliant man who has always been. Brian Molko is such a masterpiece.

Placebo Anyway:  20 Years to go...what is your wish for the next 20 Placebo years? 

Maryllian C: They should stay together and continue loving everything they do, in order to make better music. I can imagine my life without Placebo, because they inspire me everyday.
