Today is the ✨𝟏𝟒𝐭𝐡 𝐀𝐍𝐍𝐈𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐀𝐑𝐘✨ of ⭐"𝐌𝐎𝐃𝐄𝐑𝐍 𝐊𝐈𝐃𝐒''⭐, the 𝑯𝒐𝒕𝒆𝒍 𝑷𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒐𝒏𝒂 song featuring 𝑩𝒓𝒊𝒂𝒏 𝑴𝒐𝒍𝒌𝒐 that was released as the fifth track on the 𝑬𝒏𝒈𝒍𝒊𝒔𝒉 version of the band's debut album, "𝑰𝒏 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑪𝒍𝒐𝒖𝒅𝒔" (2008). The song also features additional backing vocals by 𝑳𝒊𝒂𝒏 𝑾𝒂𝒓𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒕𝒐𝒏.

⭐🌠 𝐇𝐎𝐓𝐄𝐋 𝐏𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐎𝐍𝐀 🌠⭐
𝑯𝒐𝒕𝒆𝒍 𝑷𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒐𝒏𝒂 is the electro-pop band formed by 𝑺𝒕𝒆𝒇𝒂𝒏 𝑶𝒍𝒔𝒅𝒂𝒍 with his now husband 𝑫𝒂𝒗𝒊𝒅 𝑨𝒎𝒆𝒏 and 𝑱𝒂𝒗𝒊𝒆𝒓 𝑺𝒐𝒍𝒐. Their debut album was released first in 𝑺𝒑𝒂𝒏𝒊𝒔𝒉 called "𝑬𝒏 𝑳𝒂𝒔 𝑵𝒖𝒃𝒆𝒔" on May 5, 2008 and later in 𝑬𝒏𝒈𝒍𝒊𝒔𝒉 "𝑰𝒏 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑪𝒍𝒐𝒖𝒅𝒔" on June 27, 2008. The album was co-produced by 𝑯𝒐𝒕𝒆𝒍 𝑷𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒐𝒏𝒂 and 𝑭𝒂𝒃𝒊𝒆𝒏 𝑾𝒂𝒍𝒕𝒎𝒂𝒏𝒏. The songs were recorded and mixed in 𝑳𝒐𝒏𝒅𝒐𝒏, 𝑴𝒂𝒅𝒓𝒊𝒅 and 𝑵𝒆𝒘 𝒀𝒐𝒓𝒌 between 2005 and 2007. Besides 𝑩𝒓𝒊𝒂𝒏 𝑴𝒐𝒍𝒌𝒐, the album includes other collaborations with artists such as 𝑴𝒊𝒈𝒖𝒆𝒍 𝑩𝒐𝒔𝒆́, 𝑨𝒍𝒂𝒔𝒌𝒂 (𝑭𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒐𝒓𝒊𝒂) and 𝑺𝒂𝒎𝒂𝒏𝒕𝒉𝒂 𝑭𝒐𝒙. 𝑭𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒂 𝑩𝒓𝒊𝒄𝒆 also made string arrangements for some tracks. 𝑯𝒐𝒕𝒆𝒍 𝑷𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒐𝒏𝒂 has remixed bands like 𝑸𝒖𝒆𝒆𝒏𝒔 𝑶𝒇 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑺𝒕𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝑨𝒈𝒆 or 𝑺𝒉𝒆 𝑾𝒂𝒏𝒕𝒔 𝑹𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒏𝒈𝒆 among others and even remixed some 𝑷𝒍𝒂𝒄𝒆𝒃𝒐 songs.

💠 𝑺𝒕𝒆𝒇𝒂𝒏 𝑶𝒍𝒔𝒅𝒂𝒍 talked more about this side project in a short interview published in 𝑹𝒐𝒄𝒌 𝑺𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒅 𝑴𝒂𝒈𝒂𝒛𝒊𝒏𝒆 at the time.

🌠 𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒊𝒔 𝑯𝒐𝒕𝒆𝒍 𝑷𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒐𝒏𝒂?
🎤"Hotel Persona is a side-project I do with David Amen. We've done remixes for (Placebo single) 'Infra Red' and She Wants Revenge, we have a DJ tour, and we've just finished recording an album of original material, at the moment called 'One', which will be coming out soon. There are a couple of interesting collaborations - Placebo fans will be surprised - and it has flamenco, disco, rock, lullabies. It's all over the shop."


🌠 𝑾𝒉𝒚 𝒅𝒊𝒅 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒅𝒆𝒄𝒊𝒅𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝒅𝒐 𝒊𝒕?
🎤"I'm perfectly happy being in Placebo and I'm not leaving the band, but there are other side to what I do musically. These songs (on the album) were written over the past five years and it's just coming to fruition now. Also, what I'm trying to do now is DJ at summer festivals, because you get kind of bored when you play them."


🌠 𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒅𝒐 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒑𝒍𝒂𝒚 𝒘𝒉𝒆𝒏 𝑫𝒋-𝒊𝒏𝒈?
🎤"It goes from Metallica bootlegs to PJ Harvey remixes to Depeche Mode remixes to French disco. It's just music for people to dance to and have a good time."


🌠 𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕'𝒔 𝒃𝒆𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒏𝒂𝒎𝒆?
🎤"Initially it was because the project had so many different personalities to it. Also, it's kind of transient and it's going to be happening in and around my schedule, like people coming and going from a hotel."

📍"𝑴𝒐𝒅𝒆𝒓𝒏 𝑲𝒊𝒅𝒔" is a pop song with electronic and alternative overtones. I don't really know what inspired 𝑺𝒕𝒆𝒇𝒂𝒏 and 𝑫𝒂𝒗𝒊𝒅 to write the lyrics for the song, but I've always thought there are two things in particular that can be related to 𝑩𝒓𝒊𝒂𝒏. One is the line "𝒀𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒎𝒐𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒊𝒔 𝒉𝒐𝒎𝒆 𝑹𝒆𝒂𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒃𝒊𝒃𝒍𝒆" because 𝑩𝒓𝒊𝒂𝒏 in several interviews said that his mother is very religious, and then the chorus

makes me think of when 𝑩𝒓𝒊𝒂𝒏 decided to leave his boring life in 𝑳𝒖𝒙𝒆𝒎𝒃𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒈 and traveled to 𝑳𝒐𝒏𝒅𝒐𝒏 to pursue his dreams of being an actor. I believe that's what "𝑴𝒐𝒅𝒆𝒓𝒏 𝑲𝒊𝒅𝒔" is all about, following your dreams, doing what your heart dictates and what makes you happy, no matter what anyone else says. It's a very positive song, like most of the album. Plus, the way 𝑩𝒓𝒊𝒂𝒏 and 𝑺𝒕𝒆𝒇𝒂𝒏's beautiful voices sound together is just amazing. 😍🥰🎶

I guess that's why Hotel Persona exists, to satisfy that aspect of his musical taste and his desire to express himself in that way.”
