Today, for a change, I have an interview with Stefan for you. It was done when Placebo arrived in Mexico to perform at Vive Latino Festival in Mexico City on March 30th, 2014.

📢 Nothing can replace real physical interaction, and you can have an interaction through technology but you can mask yourself as whoever you want.
𝑳𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒍𝒚 𝒔𝒐𝒎𝒆 𝒃𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒔 𝒑𝒍𝒂𝒚 𝒂 𝒘𝒉𝒐𝒍𝒆 𝒏𝒆𝒘 𝒂𝒍𝒃𝒖𝒎 𝒘𝒉𝒊𝒍𝒆 𝒕𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈. 𝑯𝒐𝒘 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒑𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒐 𝒅𝒐 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔?
📢 It’s really hard to tell because we have a complicated relationship with some songs from our previous albums. In a perfect world, we would play only the songs we like. Or we would like to play the new record but the truth is that we have to make a mixture of our songs, the ones we like and the ones our fans like. I don't know, we haven't thought about it but you never know...
𝑰𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝒂 𝒔𝒐𝒏𝒈 𝒇𝒓𝒐𝒎 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒑𝒓𝒆𝒗𝒊𝒐𝒖𝒔 𝒂𝒍𝒃𝒖𝒎𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒅𝒐𝒏’𝒕 𝒑𝒍𝒂𝒚 𝒂𝒏𝒚𝒎𝒐𝒓𝒆 𝒃𝒖𝒕 𝒘𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒍𝒊𝒌𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝒑𝒍𝒂𝒚?
📢 Yes, we killed some songs but then we resurrected them, like Nancy Boy. It depends, for instance, during festivals we play more songs from our two first records because they are more upbeat but what we are doing right now, is playng different versions of our songs like acoustic versions or totally new versions to reinvent the songs.
𝑽𝒊𝒏𝒚𝒍𝒔 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒃𝒂𝒄𝒌. 𝑰𝒕 𝒔𝒆𝒆𝒎𝒔 𝒍𝒊𝒌𝒆 𝒂 𝒏𝒐𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒍𝒈𝒊𝒄 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒎𝒖𝒔𝒊𝒄 𝒊𝒏𝒅𝒖𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒚. 𝑾𝒉𝒚 𝒅𝒐 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒌 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒊𝒔?
📢 I don’t like being nostalgic, we have good memories of those times but if you think about what you did during those times or all the music there was, it wasn’t all that beautiful, you know, and you can’t change the past and we need to move on… As a band, we keep on moving.
𝑲𝒂𝒕𝒆 𝑩𝒖𝒔𝒉 𝒂𝒏𝒏𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒄𝒆𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒔𝒉𝒆’𝒍𝒍 𝒃𝒆 𝒃𝒂𝒄𝒌 𝒐𝒏 𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒈𝒆, 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒆𝒙𝒄𝒊𝒕𝒆𝒅?
📢 Yes, I already bought two tickets, just to see her. I love her as an artist, I think that the 80s were really interesting when it comes to pop, bands were more experimental like David Bowie, Kate Bush, Peter Gabriel, those bands were very experimental and now it’s not the same.
𝑫𝒐 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒂𝒏𝒚 𝒑𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒊𝒄𝒖𝒍𝒂𝒓 𝒎𝒆𝒎𝒐𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒔 𝒇𝒓𝒐𝒎 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒑𝒓𝒆𝒗𝒊𝒐𝒖𝒔 𝒈𝒊𝒈𝒔 𝒊𝒏 𝑴𝒆𝒙𝒊𝒄𝒐?
📢 Many; we generally feel very welcomed here in every way, and we enjoy a lot the time that we spend here and the gigs. That’s why we keep coming back and I hope we will come back in the future.

⭐️𝐕𝐈𝐕𝐄 𝐋𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐎⭐️(𝐅𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐥 𝐈𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐨 𝐝𝐞 𝐂𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚 𝐌𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥) is an annual music festival held in 𝑴𝒆𝒙𝒊𝒄𝒐 𝑪𝒊𝒕𝒚. It is one of the most important music festivals in Mexico, featuring a great variety of bands of many genres.
▪️The event takes place in 𝑭𝒐𝒓𝒐 𝑺𝒐𝒍 usually in the months of March and April. The duration of the festival has been one to three days, depending on the number of live acts. The first edition was in 1998, and has been repeated yearly ever since (except for 1999, 2002 and 2021).
▪️The festival's concept is to every year gather important and newcoming bands from all over Ibero-America for three days to create a space for alternative music and new proposals from different Spanish-speaking bands.
▪️Vive Latino has also been opened for the musical acts from all over the world; besides Placebo, The Chemical Brothers, Jane's Addiction, The National, Deftones, and many others performed there over the years.
🟪You may remember that Placebo included their performance at Vive Latino 2014 to the list of the 𝐋𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐓𝐚𝐩𝐞𝐬 presented online in 2020 instead of live summer festivals.
⭐️Let’s watch 𝐁𝟑 now which was a great opener for many shows of 𝑳𝒐𝒖𝒅 𝑳𝒊𝒌𝒆 𝑳𝒐𝒗𝒆 𝒕𝒐𝒖𝒓.
