Dear soulmates, my post today will be on a very serious topic.
Exactly today, the whole world commemorates one very sad anniversary.
On September 11, 2021, it will be 20 years since the event that marked the lives of almost every person on this planet. According to official sources, America was then the target of several terrorist attacks, which led to huge losses of lives and property.
Whatever happened then had two huge consequences:
America, led by President George W. Bush, occupied Afghanistan to destroy the al-Qaeda terrorist movement, and in 2003 it attacked Iraq to overthrow Saddam Hussein's dictatorial regime.
My other words are useless. I have found for us a very valuable statement from Brian on this political situation.

And so that my post today does not end so hopelessly and negatively, I would like to conclude by using the words of ๐๐๐๐ง๐๐ก๐ข ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐, which Brian read in 2015 at a charity concert in Tivoli Vredenburg. Perhaps, the video with Brian's heartfelt speech, which I share with you, will give you beautiful and positive thoughts.

๐๐ซ๐ข๐๐ง: "I can still see the images from the TV screen. World Trade Center ruins, rescue teams, terrified faces of thousands of people. A lot has changed in culture and politics around the world. All these songs about life here and now, all the stories about happy relationships and stories about existence on this planet are really just the background to the real world situation. In this political climate, we still play out love stories, but this is only the margins of our brutal everyday life. Take a look at what is happening in America right now.
We are dealing there with an attempt to permanently eradicate all voices of opposition. That "United We Stand!" scares me, because this type of propaganda eliminates the possibility of criticizing the American government.
George Bush comes out on the podium and throws words like, "You're either on our side or on the terrorists' side!" What a shame! Nothing is ever black or white in life except that Bush does not remember that.
At one point, I even considered giving up American citizenship. I was extremely disgusted with the way people suspected of having ties to Al Qaeda are being treated.
I was ashamed that I had an American passport! What the Americans were doing at Guantรกnamo Bay in Cuba was a gross violation of human rights. America does such things in the name of freedom and to protect the American way of thinking.
It's a shame. After a while, I realized that giving up an American passport would mean giving up the right to criticize. I believe that it is better to keep this right."

๐๐ซ๐ข๐๐ง: "Yes, it is, but it is true. I agree with that. If we join the war now, the innocent people of Iraq will feel the effects of 9/11, regardless of Saddam Hussein and Osama bin Laden's ties to these tragic events.
It will be a genocide that will affect the next generation. But after all, America had done such things in Hiroshima, Nagasaki, and Vietnam before.
I am very disgusted by the tendency to repeat history.
The war in Iraq is, in my opinion, caused by two very selfish motives. First of all, oil is huge in the Caspian Sea region and near the border with Iraq, so, for obvious reasons, Bush wants to control them. He was elected president in an undemocratic manner. You probably remember this whole election scandal. I am convinced that influential people connected with the oil industry were behind his success.
They wanted to have a man like Bush with them. After Clinton left the office, they needed someone to screw it up again and let them get to the manger.
Moreover, if the Americans replace Saddam Husain with a puppet government, they will have control over the entire region, including the neighboring to Iraq countries. I think that's what they really want to achieve.
And the second problem is closely related to the desire to attack Iraq. Note that Bush has so far done nothing but portray himself as a military leader and call for war. These are his "successes". For him, war is, in a way, a battle for popularity. Disgusting!"

๐๐ซ๐ข๐๐ง: "Of course. When I was younger, it didn't interest me at all. Later something changed. Music has made me realize that politics is just as important as heartbreak when it comes to expressing yourself to others. After all, it all affects us every day."
