Short interview with Brian, 1997

Today I want to share a short ♦ð—œð—Ąð—§ð—˜ð—Ĩð—Đ𝗜𝗘𝗊♦ with Brian that was printed in NME in 1997. The headline of the article was “Alien Sex Fiend” which is funnily also the name of an English goth band from the 80ies, a genre Brian never liked to be mistaken for. “Don't label me!” as a T-shirt said that he wore in a TV show once in late 1995.

ðŸ“Ē “I think people expect me to be very saucy. But it's not always easy to be that sexy, especially since we're the first generation that since our awakening have been told that water is poison and sex is death. I mean, I grew up very confused. On a daily basis I was mistaken for a girl, even if I hadn't shaved or something like that.I'd walk down Deptford High Street and black guys would shout 'Oi, mate! You look like a woman. Sort it out.' It started to intrigue me, it really did. When you're walking into the gents people looking twice. Even when you're taking a piss next to them, y'know.”
