๐No. I'll go back to the beginning. When we first met, I wasn't sure if there was a connection between us. But as soon as we started talking, we found that we had a lot in common. Then one day we sat down and tried to write some songs together, we found in each other what we were missing in ourselves. It was not only that we understood each other musically, but I felt that Brian had many qualities that I didn't have. And conversely.

๐I think he writes good lyrics. And he also has a vision and unusual ideas. I'm more of a technically based type. I can play many instruments and I am able to come up with instrumental ideas.

๐It was in a small pub in south London. In a terrible neighborhood. It was a tight space with a terrible sound. But between all the noise and the lousy music, I could clearly hear him singing. I thought it was an exceptional voice. Then I went to the drummer and told him I played the bass guitar. I asked if they wanted a bass player. That's when it started.

๐Some of our drummers wanted to be more than just drummers.

๐It was a different case for everyone. Our last drummer Steve Forrest simply didn't want to continue. He left because he wanted to go in a different musical direction. Our second drummer also started a band and we ended up with him quite a bit. It was an ugly departure.
You know, Placebo came into being between me and Brian at his house. We played children's drums and broken guitars. We also had a guitar with one string. In fact, it was always just the two of us. The drummers came to the studio to record their part and left again. The rest was up to us. I actually feel more comfortable when it's clear that the band is the two of us. A sufficiently complex policy is already emerging between two people. The creative process becomes more complicated with each other. It is not always a democratic matter. The fact that there are three people in a group does not mean that everyone contributes a third. Two work better. We finally found out that the two of us were the core.

๐Not at all, we don't discuss the past. In fact, this tour is challenging for us because we want to play new songs. Instead, we play songs that are even twenty years old. We look forward to looking ahead again. It will come soon.

๐Sometimes yes. We're from London and the audience there is a bit dull because they have the opportunity to see many bands. When you go to play somewhere where not many musicians go, you feel that people appreciate it. They come up with beautiful surprises for us. The audience will arrange and prepare an organized event. I was touched when they created a light image in six colors of the rainbow flag on the back of the surface in Gorky Park, Russia.

๐There are places like Iran where I would love to play, but I would be afraid for my life. One must be a realist, we do not want to expose ourselves or other dangers. In Russia, for example, the political situation is confusing. Who knows who actually controls it and how strict the regime is. But we don't find it a reason not to play there. Though, there are also places where we could get to prison.

๐In Morocco, I was threatened with death while we were playing there. And in China, I was almost arrested because I jumped off the stage and went to the audience. There was a huge space between the stage and the people. It seemed ridiculous to me, when people are so far away, one can't connect to them at all. There were about a thousand police officers for ten thousand fans. I thought I was coughing at them and going after our fans. I was warned not to do that. But at a concert, you don't care, you are engulfed in situations and you do what you feel. So I went. Fortunately, this had no consequences. But it was stuffy, I probably wouldn't do it again.๐ฅ
