by SusanneCk - Placebo Anyway

Placebo Anyway: When did you first listen to Placebo?

Rachel Etrog: When I was 15 years old.

Placebo Anyway: What was so special about the band for you to become a fan?
Rachel Etrog: The songs that spoken to me at that time, the look of Brian.

Placebo Anyway: How have you lived the last 20 years with the band and their music?
Rachel Etrog: With big love, every day my love for the band has grown and grown, they have become a big part of me...

Placebo Anyway: You have been with the band from the beginning have you gone to all the concerts in your country? Some abroad? Do you have all their albums?

Rachel Etrog: Well they have been here in Israel only one time 4 years ago, 2 days before my birthday and it was a great present!!
Unfortunately I didn't saw them a lot of times abroad because it's to expensive, but this year with the new tour I saw them twice in Amsterdam and Paris on Brian's brithday.
I hope in the future i'll see them more & more as much as I can :)
Yes, of course  I have all their albums.

Placebo Anyway: Do you have any special collection? Vinyls, singles, dvd’s....?

Rachel Etrog: Here in Israel it's difficult to get a rare stuff, but most of my collection I bought from abroad.
I have vinyls, singles, all their dvd's and cd's, Battle for the Sun and LLL collectors edition.

Placebo Anyway: Which song makes you feel closer to the band?
Rachel Etrog: Wow there are so many songs lol... but if I need to choose only one it will be Centerfols every time I hear this song I have tears in my eyes.

Placebo Anyway: Do you see any difference between the fans from the beginning and the fans from nowadays?
Rachel Etrog: Well, Placebo's music talked much more to the "freaks" like I was when I was teen, but over the years it's began to affect on everyone, no matter who you are.

Placebo Anyway: Is there a stereotypical Placebo fan?
Rachel Etrog: Not anymore

Placebo Anyway: What do you think about "Soulmates Never Die". Is this true?
Rachel Etrog: Yes it is true.

Placebo Anyway: In your opinion, what unifies Placebo fans. What is the glue that puts them together?
Rachel Etrog: The fans accept you as you are no matter from where you are and what your age.
There is no prejudice, the music and the love to the band comes first and that's the beauty.

Placebo Anyway: How do you see the evolution of the band on a musical way?
Rachel Etrog: I think it would be more electronic, they started a little in the LLL album, But I prefer these geniuses surprise me.

Placebo Anyway: Do you think the inclusion of Steve Forrest gave the band somehting positve?
Rachel Etrog: I loved Steve Hewitt, he was great and a big part of the band, and I also love Steve Forrest he's insanely talented and I think he brought to the band a young spirit and a lot of strength to move on.

Placebo Anyway: Which difference do you see in Brian when you look back and compare it with how he is nowadays?
Rachel Etrog: The difference I see is that Brian more calm, cool, more mature then he used to be.

Placebo Anyway: In 3 seconds 3 words about Brian, Stefan and Steve!
Rachel Etrog: Geniuses, stirring, Breaking Hearts

Placebo Anyway: 20 Years to go…what is your wish for the next 20 Placebo years?
Rachel Etrog: I hope they will continue together with their amazing music, and continue to amaze me and move me like they did in the last 20 years.
I can not see my life without them!!!
