The Placebo Wings

𝑾𝒉𝒆𝒏 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒔𝒆𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒔𝒆 𝒘𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒔 𝒔𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒘𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆, 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒊𝒎𝒎𝒆𝒅𝒊𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒍𝒚 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒌 𝒐𝒇 𝑷𝒍𝒂𝒄𝒆𝒃𝒐, 𝒓𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕?
𝑩𝒖𝒕, 𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝒘𝒐𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒓𝒆𝒅 𝒘𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒊𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒐𝒓𝒊𝒈𝒊𝒏 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒎?

Well dear 𝑺𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒎𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒔, that's what I'm going to talk to you about today.
The creator of this beautiful wings design is 𝑴𝒐𝒓𝒈𝒂𝒏 𝑯𝒖𝒈𝒉𝒆𝒔, who has worked for a several music merchandising companies in London and Sydney. In 2005, he was 𝑫𝒆𝒔𝒊𝒈𝒏𝒆𝒓 and 𝑨𝒄𝒄𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒕 𝑴𝒂𝒏𝒂𝒈𝒆𝒓 of the Australian company 𝑳𝒐𝒗𝒆 𝑷𝒐𝒍𝒊𝒄𝒆, working with international acts touring in Australia as well as local bands and major Austalian festivals such as 𝑩𝒊𝒈 𝑫𝒂𝒚 𝑶𝒖𝒕. In 2007, he was 𝑨𝒄𝒄𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒕 𝑴𝒂𝒏𝒂𝒈𝒆𝒓 at 𝑭𝒊𝒓𝒆𝒃𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑳𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝑳𝒕𝒅. and worked with bands like: 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑷𝒓𝒐𝒅𝒊𝒈𝒚, 𝑷𝒍𝒂𝒄𝒆𝒃𝒐, 𝑹𝒐𝒙𝒚 𝑴𝒖𝒔𝒊𝒄, 𝑬𝒍𝒃𝒐𝒘, 𝑾𝒉𝒊𝒕𝒆 𝑳𝒊𝒆𝒔, 𝑬𝒅𝒊𝒕𝒐𝒓𝒔 and many more. Also for important European festivals like 𝑹𝒆𝒂𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒈 & 𝑳𝒆𝒆𝒅𝒔, 𝑰𝒔𝒍𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝑾𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕, 𝑻 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑷𝒂𝒓𝒌, 𝑩𝒆𝒏𝒊𝒄𝒂𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒎, 𝑪𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒎𝒇𝒊𝒆𝒍𝒅𝒔, 𝑹𝒐𝒄𝒌𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒔 and 𝑩𝒆𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒂𝒍. He joined to 𝑾𝒂𝒓𝒏𝒆𝒓 𝑴𝒖𝒔𝒊𝒄 𝑮𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒑 in 2011 and currently he is the 𝑯𝒆𝒂𝒅 𝒐𝒇 𝑪𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑴𝒆𝒓𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒊𝒔𝒆 of this company since January 2020.

Returning to the '𝑷𝒍𝒂𝒄𝒆𝒃𝒐 𝑾𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒔' topic, they appeared for the first time on the cover of the single "𝑻𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝑷𝒊𝒄𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒆"(2003), in its three different versions (CD, 7'' Vinyl and DVD), where a girl has this design printed on her back. The cover photography was taken by 𝑯𝒆𝒍𝒆𝒏𝒂 𝑩𝒆𝒓𝒈 and the art direction was also headed by 𝑯𝒆𝒍𝒆𝒏𝒂 along with 𝑩𝒓𝒊𝒂𝒏 𝑴𝒐𝒍𝒌𝒐. They also appeared in the 𝑬𝒏𝒈𝒍𝒊𝒔𝒉 𝑺𝒖𝒎𝒎𝒆𝒓 𝑹𝒂𝒊𝒏 official video made by the fan, 𝑮𝒓𝒆́𝒈𝒐𝒊𝒓𝒆 𝑷𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒓𝒅. The wings had such popularity among the fans that they became a distinctive symbol of 𝑷𝒍𝒂𝒄𝒆𝒃𝒐, so the band decided to include them in various items of their official merchandise, such as t-shirts, hoodies, a gorgeous necklace... Even 𝑺𝒕𝒆𝒇𝒂𝒏 𝑶𝒍𝒔𝒅𝒂𝒍 in 2016 got a brand new white colored bass with these wings painted on it, that he used throughout the "𝑨 𝑷𝒍𝒂𝒄𝒆 𝑭𝒐𝒓 𝑼𝒔 𝑻𝒐 𝑫𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒎 𝑻𝒐𝒖𝒓" and that he still preserves today.
