✨What is special about it, is that not Placebo songs were featured on the soundtrack, but totally ๐’ƒ๐’š ๐‘ฉ๐’“๐’Š๐’‚๐’ specifically for this movie. Some other songs were written by Asia Argento herself. Far-ranging soundtrack of rock, punk, and Mozart makes a huge contribution to the movie mood.

“Misunderstood,” a buoyantly funny, sometimes desperately sad film about a child searching for love and home, could be titled “The Girl, Her Bag and Her Beautiful Cat.” This is a story that wavers between realism and surrealism, and sometimes feels like a faraway dream and at times a nightmare.

Aria [Argento’s original name], 9-year-old, is the sensitive little daughter of narcissictic parents, a female concert pianist and an actor. She finds herself to live the violent separation of her parents, who both neglect her in favour of their children from earlier relationships. Being the only product of her mother and father’s unhappy union, she becomes an orphan of a kind. Feeling rejected and pushed away, Aria walks through the city with a striped bag and her black cat named Dac, touching the abyss and trying to protect her innocence.

In a provincial Italian school three young teenagers, two boys and one girl, who don't exactly fit in with the other students their age, befriend one another and develop a close bond. Lorenzo, who is gay, has just been adopted by progressive thinking parents; he’s naturally positive, happy, and pays no mind to the other classmates who reject him. Antonio is an ace basketball player but emotionally damaged by his brother’s death. Blu is her own person and secure in her decisions and behavior. These three find one another and their friendship brings light into their lives. All is well until their sexual desires enter the picture and their relationships begin to fracture.

Twenty-six-year-old Wok has been caring for Nong Mai since she was three. They are inseparable: they play together, they bathe together, and they beg together. It's illegal to street beg with elephants in Thailand, but it has become the family business for many people.

Despite their wild and potentially dangerous nature, elephants have been ingrained in Asian culture for thousands of years. Yet today the bond is challenged: fewer than 45,000 Asian elephants left on Earth. Most of them are forced into a tourism trade. A century ago, more than 100,000 elephants roamed freely in Thailand's forests. Today, only 4,000 remain - 2,800 of which are captive.
But a remarkable organization in Thailand is fighting to change that releasing captive elephants. Wok must let Nong Mai go. Once in the forest, Nong Mai adjusts to her newfound freedom in no time, showing that a happy ending for one may offer hope for all.
