🔸𝐗𝐀𝐕𝐈𝐎𝐑 𝐑𝐎𝐈𝐃𝐄 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐋𝐄𝐗 𝐋𝐄𝐄🔸🔸

My beautiful friends,
I really care about putting together as many fragments from Placebo history as possible.
And it would not be complete without the two men who were part of it in 2003-2007.
Do you know what I mean?

🔸𝐗𝐀𝐕𝐈𝐎𝐑 𝐑𝐎𝐈𝐃𝐄 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐋𝐄𝐗 𝐋𝐄𝐄🔸
Two great musicians who were invited to collaborate on the band's live performances.
Tonight will be dedicated to the first of them. I found a lot of interesting information and memories and I think you will enjoy it.

🔸𝐗𝐀𝐕𝐈𝐎𝐑 𝐑𝐎𝐈𝐃𝐄🔸,
an Irish musician named Paul Wilkinson, born in 1976, has been involved in music since the 1980s and was a founding member of the band DexDexter which was at the birth of the "Romo" musical style in the 1990s.

It is possible that Xavior has met Placebo before in one of the "Romo" clubs in London, but I can only confirm their meeting during the filming of "𝑽𝒆𝒍𝒗𝒆𝒕 𝑮𝒐𝒍𝒅𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒆" where he played with Brian and Steve Hewitt a bassist named "𝐏𝐄𝐀𝐑𝐋", another member of the fictional band "Flaming Creatures".

Then he is rumored to have been touring with Placebo as a roadie. He was probably happy to keep in touch with them. He was invited as a keyboard player in 2003 and we can probably recognize his backing vocals the most from the live performance of the cover of the Pixies song "Where is my mind".

„Leafing through the photo album I came across these rough cut ones. This day in 2003, @placeboworld released “The Bitter End”, the first single from “Sleeping With Ghosts”.
The same night we performed at the Astoria in London which has since been torn down.
The track was a late edition to the album recording session, and I remember we were re-energised when it came about. The sessions felt a little strained and we’d spent a long time searching for the missing piece.
It came to at Townhouse Recording Studios in West London (also not there now), and clear as day I remember Brian running in from the control room to tell me to keep playing the opening chords that I’d just started playing, and then the track was written and recorded pretty much by the next day.
I went with Xavior Roide (our live keyboard player extra-ordinaire at the time) to HMV (record store on Oxford Street) on it’s release day and got him to hold up the 7” vinyl. Then it was back to the venue to premiere a track that has since been a staple in our live sets.“

Before the release of MEDS, Xavior Roide left the band to pursue his own artistic development.
Xavior's last show with Placebo was at the Live8 concert in Paris in 2005.
We also know about Xavior that he recorded a few solo albums and was the promoter of clubnights in "Hanky Panky Kabaret".
Since 2010, you can meet him as a resident pianist and music director at the luxury restaurant "𝐁𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐞" and "𝐇𝐨𝐢 𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐢" brasserie in East London.

„As part of Placebo's 20 years together, this man Xavior Roide who was part of our live band for 'Sleeping With Ghosts' has remained a true star. His arranging and conducting of the choir at the Bistrotheque last night in London was fantastic. Hats off my friend.“

📌You can find a lot of enthusiastic articles about our old friend Xavior on the Internet, this is one of 2017:
"Few restaurants embrace Christmas quite like fashion-crowd favourite, Bistrotheque. As well as opening on 25 December, the east London restaurant brings the festive cheer during the weeks leading up to the big day. This week sees the Choir Christmas Concerts take place. Led by Bistrotheque’s musical director Mr Xavior Roide, the choral pop will explore the themes of “visitation, creation, and birth in three movements – hearth, flow, release”. We’re not altogether sure what that means either, but we have heard Mr Roide playing piano at Saturday and Sunday brunch (where he drops in some Christmassy numbers throughout December), so we are sure it’s going to be top-notch. With the industrial, white open space making it the perfect setting for some Yuletide tunes, expect a fun, hip crowd taking in the French-influenced menu and singing along with an espresso martini or two."
