Karolina lives fast, intensely, and wants to experience everything. Her life is full of parties, travels, drugs and booze. Unlike most of her peers, she doesn’t work in corporations - she is an artist, some time ago she published her first novel, the modern version of "Lolita", which has become an international success. Murdered for Being Different is a British crime drama TV film directed by Paul Andrew Williams starring Chanel Cresswell, Nico Mirallegro, Abigail Lawrie.
The story is based on the murder of twenty-year-old Sophie Lancaster in Lancashire in 2007 and the subsequent police investigation.

In 2006 teenagers Sophie Lancaster and Rob Maltby are attracted to each other by their shared Goth appearance. However, in a small Lancashire town their unusual looks and piercings invite hostility. A year later they are lured to a skateboard park and set upon by a gang of drunken youths, purely because they look different. Michael Gorman does not join in the attack and, feeling guilty for not intervening, rings for an ambulance, attracting the attention of dogged policewoman Steph Farley, anxious to arrest the culprits whilst he is under pressure from the other boys to say nothing. When Sophie dies 13 days later in hospital it becomes a murder case and Michael is forced to tell Steph the truth about what happened.

A Dose of Happiness is a British-Bulgarian co-production directed by Yana Titova. The number one film in Bulgaria in 2019, it is a biopic of journalist ๐‘ฝ๐’†๐’”๐’†๐’๐’‚ ๐‘ป๐’๐’•๐’†๐’—๐’‚. Based on Vesela’s book, ‘๐…๐š๐ฅ๐ฅ ๐š๐ง๐ ๐’๐š๐ฅ๐ฏ๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง: ๐‚๐จ๐ง๐Ÿ๐ž๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐ฌ ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐š ๐Ÿ๐จ๐ซ๐ฆ๐ž๐ซ ๐ก๐ž๐ซ๐จ๐ข๐ง ๐š๐๐๐ข๐œ๐ญ’, it is a tale of addiction, destitution, fear, and redemption. Sadly, Vesela passed away half a year before a premeire, so the movie is in fact a tribute to her.

๐๐ซ๐ข๐š๐ง was one of the few people who watched "A Dose of Happiness" before its official release. The film captivated him so much that he immediately offered to donate “Protect me from what I want” to it because “๐’•๐’‰๐’† ๐’”๐’๐’๐’ˆ ๐’˜๐’Š๐’๐’ ๐’”๐’•๐’‚๐’“๐’• ๐’•๐’‰๐’† ๐’Ž๐’๐’—๐’Š๐’† ๐’Š๐’ ๐’‚๐’ ๐’Š๐’Ž๐’‘๐’‚๐’„๐’•๐’‡๐’–๐’ ๐’˜๐’‚๐’š.”

Film director ๐˜๐š๐ง๐š ๐“๐ข๐ญ๐จ๐ฏ๐š explaines how Brian got to see the film: "It's actually quite interesting how this came into being. We have international producers who take care of part of the “A Dose of Happiness” distribution agreements outside Bulgaria. Naturally, as part of the process, we had to tell them what we did. And Brian Molko is a close friend of one of our UK producers."

What is special about “A Dose of Happiness” is that main character, Vesela Toteva, is embodied by her daughter Valentina Karoleva, who had to deal with her mother's addiction when she was a child. So, during the production of the movie Valentina sort of went through her bitter childhood experience for the second time.
